Human Resources Generalist The Hamburg Area School District is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and people-focused professional to serve as our Human Resources Generalist . This position plays a vital role in supporting employees and advancing the District's mission by assisting with recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, employee support, and HR compliance initiatives. We are looking for a dynamic candidate who enjoys building relationships, promoting organizational culture, and supporting employees throughout their employment journey. The ideal candidate brings creativity and enthusiasm to recruitment and employee engagement efforts and is comfortable presenting to both small and large groups in a professional setting. Location: Hamburg Area, SD. District Office Conference Room. Terms of Employment 12-months, full time Benefits eligible as of the first of the month following hire (Medical, Dental, Voluntary Vision, Group Term Life Insurance & Long-term Disability plans) The salary range for this position is between $40,000 and $50,000 and is commensurate with experience (non-exempt/annualized). Annual increases Receives 11 paid holidays, 14 PTO days, and 10 sick days annually Key Responsibilities The Human Resources Generalist will support a variety of essential HR functions, including: Coordinating recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and orientation processes for all employee groups Representing the District at career fairs, community events, and recruitment initiatives Developing engaging recruitment and promotional materials showcasing District culture and opportunities Administering employee benefits and assisting employees with enrollment and eligibility questions Supporting employee leave administration, including FMLA, disability, workers' compensation, and military leave Maintaining confidential personnel records and ensuring compliance with employment laws, PA School Code requirements, and District policies Providing first-level HR guidance and customer service support to employees and supervisors Assisting with HR projects, reporting, presentations, and employee engagement initiatives Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent), or comparable professional HR experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field Three (3) years of professional HR experience, preferably in a K-12 public education or public sector environment Experience with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and leave management Desired Skills & Abilities Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and confidentiality requirements Familiarity with public education environments, collective bargaining agreements, and school employment regulations Proficiency with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint A collaborative, customer-service oriented approach to supporting staff and administrators Why Join Our Team?
