Substitute Assistive Technology Facilitator: August 12, 2026 - November 3, 2026

The ELC is located in Vernon Hills (Lake County), Illinois; is a special education cooperative providing services to students identified with special needs, ages 3 through 22 years of age. The ELC represents Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96, Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 and Fox Lake District 114. The ELC serves eight elementary schools, four junior high/middle schools and one high school.

Throughout the member districts.

Qualifications:

Current license from the State of Illinois Special Certificate endorsed for Speech and Language Pathology, Type 03, 09, 10, 73 or LBS1.
Certificate of Assistive Technology preferred or willing to obtain.
Ability to travel within the districts and move about ELC and district buildings as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Foster the development of augmentative, language-rich environments through the use of low to high technology systems for the purpose of fostering communication across settings.
Interpret, integrate, and synthesize evaluative information to make recommendations for Assistive Technology (AT) interventions and services for the purpose of providing access for students.
Maintain accurate records (Students performance data, clerical responsibilities, Medicare billing, etc.) for the purpose of documenting accurate student information, reports, and Medicare reimbursement.
Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team for the purpose of developing and evaluating and making recommendations based on individual student needs.
Participate in Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students who qualify for AT supports for the purpose of developing appropriate goals, supports, and minutes of services.
Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data for the purpose of providing accurate records and communicating with team members, parents, administration, and district staff.
Provide diagnostic services for students referred through a systematic referral process for the purpose of assessing assistive technology needs.
Select, adapt, and conduct appropriate and compliant evaluations to assess student needs across all domains for the purpose of making recommendations.
Utilize, make recommendations and plans for implementation of technology and assistive technologies to increase student access, independence, communication needs, or other needs.
