Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 3x12 shifts | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families/caregivers
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems, demonstrating cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the patient population served
• Coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams and serve as the accountable clinician for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, applying telemetry competency to support patient safety on a Med/Tele unit
• Float to other units up to competency level based on organizational needs; expected to pick up one additional shift per schedule period
• Maintain intensive, continuous mental effort when providing safe patient care, exercising sound clinical judgment and decision-making

Required Qualifications

• Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam demonstrating ability to identify and measure telemetry rhythm strips
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least one completed 13-week assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for complex patient populations in a high-acuity hospital environment
• Familiarity with floating to varied units within scope of competency
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and occasional call shifts
