Director, Commercial IT - US Market Access Business Analysis

Responsibilities The Senior Business Analyst has deep subject‑matter expertise in the US Market Access domain, including revenue management, contracting, government pricing, and market access commercial business processes. They operate at a high level of interactive communication and collaboration with the Business Analysts in the team, acting as a mentor/coach and ensuring that critical knowledge is shared across the team. The role partners with the US Market Access Capability Lead and business colleagues to ensure the quality of cases, lead all aspects of business process build, and ensure proposed solutions meet AstraZeneca quality and compliance standards and customer experience needs. The Senior Business Analyst determines the process and requirements management methodology practices within their function, ensuring that methodology, quality, and compliance standards are adhered to, contributing to internal IT processes and standards for business analysis and build. They also mentor other Business Analysts to develop their skills and share guidelines within relevant communities of practice. Coordinating strategy and development across projects ensures alignment to support the AstraZeneca Purpose and Corporate Strategy. Although the focus is on Market Access Operations, the Senior Business Analyst is encouraged to work across all areas of US Market Access (except for Access Services). Leadership and Role Modelling – Leads through expertise in Business Analysis while serving as a role model for AstraZeneca values and behaviors. Business Needs Identification – Operates at a functional level in assessing and defining business needs and areas for improvement; proactively seeks opportunities to enhance and improve in line with strategic goals; actively monitors and identifies capability gaps and proposes innovative solutions through internal and external research. Business Analysis Planning – Selects the appropriate analysis approach to a piece of work based on complexity, risk, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies; proficient in prioritizing and recommending appropriate approaches; capable of planning and managing their own and other team members’ activities to meet work and deadlines; accountable for performance and quality of analytical work delivered. Stakeholder Influencing – Effectively identifies collaborators from all areas of the business and builds and maintains relationships according to individual collaborator needs and levels of influence; convinces skeptical or unwilling stakeholders to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Reason Definition – Shapes and defines the reason, producing detailed business justification for investment, including value and benefits realization. Solution Evaluation – Highly proficient in analyzing and assessing solution proposals and articulating supporting reasoning, assessing business readiness, and improving value versus spend. Work Collaboratively With Business Stakeholders – Ensure solutions fulfill future strategic needs and challenges. Business customers – Identify business requirements and communicate impact, cost, and benefits of new and changed demands. Process owners – Identify and devise solutions that optimise business process performance, capability, and competitiveness. Enterprise Architecture – Ensure proposed solutions align with AstraZeneca technology roadmaps. Project Managers – Ensure smooth delivery of projects, primarily using Agile methodologies. Additional Collaborations Test Lead – Define the testing approach and components of testing to ensure traceability of requirements and overall solution effectiveness. Change Management/Communication Lead – Ensure the Organizational Change and Communications plans support the Customer Analysis. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience Deep experience with US Market Access platforms, especially Model N, or ability to quickly learn data, business processes, and supporting platforms Proven experience working with complex integrated systems, using creative and critical thinking to deliver exceptional results Strong engagement, communication, and customer management skills, including excellent presentation and influencing skills Business awareness/knowledge of the US Healthcare system Work Environment In‑person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace, and challenge perceptions.
