Job Title: Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse will mainly support ED-HOLD floating and provide care across various units including General Medical/Surgical, ICU, and PCU. The role requires adaptable and resourceful professionals familiar with managing mixed diagnoses in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care within scope across various units such as ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg.
• Transport patients throughout the hospital including inpatient units and PACU.
• Assist in the ED Holds Area during overnight shifts.

Requirements:

• 1 year of ICU experience, 1.5 years of PCU experience, or 1 year with strong PCU experience and references.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS for ICU and PCU; BLS, NIHSS for Med-Surg.
• Skills: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV med titration, and good communication and patient teaching skills.

Unit Description
General Information
Beds: 39 - MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU - mixed unit
Minimal Experience:
2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred
If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel, please have CRT send to management team for approval
Will you accept a first-time traveler? No. Minimum one prior travel assignment
Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Patient Types:
Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma - heavy trauma population
Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR - 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this - given to permanent staff
