The United States Minority Contractors Association (USMCA) is a nonprofit professional trade association headquartered in Barrington, Illinois, serving the greater Chicago metropolitan area and businesses nationwide. For 35 years, USMCA has represented Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, Women-Owned Business Enterprises, Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises, general contractors, and other businesses within the building and construction industry. With more than 25 chapters across the United States and internationally, USMCA provides technical assistance and advocacy services, including identifying procurement and contracting opportunities, providing access to project specifications, and supporting overall contract administration. The Association has also launched several new initiatives designed to expand business development opportunities and improve access to capital. In addition, USMCA provides training and placement services to help unemployed and underemployed minority and female entrepreneurs develop skills, access employment opportunities, and participate more fully in the overall building and construction industry.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Digital Marketing Specialist/Manager of Member Services located in Barrington, IL. The Specialist/Manager will report to the President - CEO of the USMCA and be responsible for developing and executing digital marketing campaigns, managing social media accounts, creating content, analyzing campaign performance, and optimizing marketing strategies to enhance member engagement. The role also involves coordinating member services such as educational programs, preparing certification documents, and fostering communication between minority and majority business enterprises.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work on-site in Barrington, IL
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
• Experience in the non-profit or trade association sector is a plus
• Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, and Campaign Optimization skills
• High Proficiency in Content Creation, Copywriting skills, and Drafting Written Correspondence for professional matters.
• Experience in Research and application, Performance Analysis, and Reporting
• Self-Starter (minimal Supervision), Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in marketing tools and software such as Mailchimp, Canva, Generative AI, Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and Servant Keeper (Accounting Software).

Vacancy and Scheduling of interviews

·         Looking to employ a person within the week. Required initial Zoom interview of approximately 25-35 minutes, and then a follow-up 1-day working interview.

Salary and Compensation

·         $22- $25 per hour (full-time – In person, m-f 9 am – 5 pm) with a 90-day evaluation period.
