Job Description
Description:
OUR VISION: To Build a Thriving Community for ALL
OUR MISSION: To Empower individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and foster independence
If our Vision and Mission resonate with you, Metrocrest Services may be the place for you. We are looking for people whose values align with ours - individuals who are compassionate, collaborative, accountable, and committed to helping our neighbors achieve greater stability and independence.
ABOUT METROCREST SERVICES
Metrocrest Services exists to provide hope and build pathways to economic mobility for neighbors in the north Dallas area. We operate a whole-household, SDOH (Social Determinants of Health)-aligned model organized around five pillars: (1) Income (2) Health and Food (3) Workforce (4) Education/Training (5) Housing. Our neighbors are at the center of everything we do.
At Metrocrest Services, Neighbors-First is more than a phrase; it is how we work. We call the people we serve Neighbors because they are members of our community, not cases to be managed. We approach every interaction with dignity, curiosity, and a whole-household perspective, listening first, following through, and measuring our success by the progress our neighbors make. Every team member, regardless of role or title, is expected to embody and advance our Neighbor-First Values.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director of Grants & Compliance serves as a strategic leader overseeing the organization’s foundation, corporate, and public grant strategy, as well as municipal contract oversight and institutional compliance. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this role bridges fund development and compliance operations - balancing rigorous grant administration with proactive relationship cultivation to generate new invitation-only and competitive funding opportunities.
The Director leads the grants department, directly supervises the Grants Manager (as well as external contractors and partner agencies), and works closely with Development, Finance, and Program leadership to maximize revenue, manage restricted funding streams, and ensure flawless execution of institutional funding agreements.

- Translates complex programs, outcomes, data, and community needs into clear and persuasive narratives. Adjusts the message for different funders and audiences while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and organizational voice.

- Connects funding opportunities to organizational strategy, program priorities, and financial goals. Evaluates opportunities thoughtfully and understands when to pursue, cultivate, negotiate, or decline based on organizational fit and capacity.
- Maintains rigorous standards for grant, contract, and regulatory compliance while remaining focused on the larger purpose of the funding. Understands that strong compliance protects relationships, strengthens credibility, and positions the organization for future investment.
- Works effectively across Development, Finance, Programs, and executive leadership without relying solely on positional authority. Can respectfully challenge, clarify expectations, and hold others accountable when information, documentation, spending, or deliverables are needed.
- Remains effective when funder priorities, regulations, deadlines, program needs, or organizational circumstances change. Quickly assesses what has changed, determines the implications, and adjusts the approach without sacrificing quality or compliance.
- Maintains patience, tact, and professionalism in challenging situations; exercises sound independent judgment and acts with strong ethical values

- Demonstrated experience directly supervising team members as well as managing third-party contractors, grant writing agencies, or external consultants.
