Medical Billing & Authorization Specialist (On-site) - Anchorage, AK


Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (No On-call, Weekend, Nights)
Schedule: On-site | Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and obtain chemotherapy infusion authorizations

• Obtain TRICARE and VA authorizations

• Manage insurance accounts receivable (A/R), including unpaid claims follow-up, discrepancy resolution, and appeals

• Handle patient A/R, including payment plans, collections, and refunds

• Respond to patient inquiries (in person and via phone) in a professional and timely manner

• Obtain Medicaid travel approvals

• Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and timely documentation

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing and/or coding

• Certifications such as CPC, CPC-A, or CPB preferred (not required)

• Working knowledge of:

• CPT, ICD-10, medical terminology, and anatomy

• Insurance EOBs

• CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines

• Strong communication skills with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, email, internet, and insurance payer portals
