Clinical Engineering Manager

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a collaborative and inspiring Clinical Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team. In Clinical Engineering our mission is to provide a team of empowered professionals providing continued improvement in patient care and equipment planning & support technologies. BJC Healthcare’s Clinical Engineering (Clinical Asset Management) team provides operational support and maintenance management of diagnostic, treatment, and patient support technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
• Manages the decision support activities related to diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, vendor contracts and quality assurance of patient care and other devices, and is responsible for medical device recalls. Provides guidance and leadership to employees 24/7 and manages on-call requests.
• Maintains awareness and conforms to The Joint Commission, CAP, OSHA, State Department of Health and all other federal, state or local government regulations for HSO accreditation. Understands and reports regulatory goals and objectives along with all other Environment of Care (EOC) benchmarks to each HSO regulatory compliance committee.
• Responsible for Clinical device database inventory and work order accuracy.
• Supports the HSO Performance Improvement initiatives via Clinical Asset Management Performance Improvement / Goal Deployment Program.
• Promotes excellent customer relations through participation in departmental and leadership meetings, and participates in or provides counsel to the Capital Equipment Committee.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Assc Deg and/or Equivalent Exp - Engineering/Biomed Eng/related
• Experience: 5-10 years
• Supervisor Experience: 2-5 years

• Education: Bachelor's Degree - Engineering/Biomed Eng/related
• Experience: 10+ years
• Supervisor Experience: 10+ years
• 5-10 years
