Dev Ops Engineer

DevOps Engineer The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in control within Integrated Supply & Trading in the North American Gas and Power Trading business. This role is for a senior DevOps Engineer for the US Gas Market risk exposure reporting solution. The US gas business is the biggest by volume and complexity within BP and this is a new implementation of the Market Risk gas exposure reporting solution. This role holds the primary interface with the Market Risk IT&S team and infrastructure support team. Key Accountabilities: Partner with key users, business leads, and project sponsors to understand the needs of the business, document them (Agile - via requirements documents, use cases and process diagrams) and determine the appropriate short and long term solutions to meet them Build solution to auto deploy build artefacts to Dev, UAT and Production environment Develop deployment and configuration pipelines, integrate with new / existing tools Experience managing Windows servers and services Familiarity configuring build systems, package managers and artifacts repositories Advise on additional tools and approaches to automation deployment in the Cloud Essential Experience and Job Requirements: Strong background in Windows administration Knowledge of the source code versioning tools (TFS, Subversion, ClearCase) Experience with automation/configuration management using Jenkins, Artifactory, Puppet, Chef or an equivalent Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies Experience in working with AWS Cloud environment (required) Background in Linux/Unix administration Experience working with scripting languages and tools (Python, PHP, Ruby, PowerShell, Linux/Unix shell scripts, ANT) Experience with SQL (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) with NoSQL experience as a plus A working understanding of code (Java, C# .NET) Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Desirable Criteria: Microsoft administration certification Linux administration certification AWS certification ClifyX
