Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting We’re partnering with a $1B+ global company in their search for a Senior Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting. This is a high-visibility role for someone who has a strong technical accounting foundation but also enjoys being hands-on with the financial reporting process. The ideal background is someone who started their career in public accounting, auditing financial statements and developing a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, and has since moved into industry where they’ve gained hands-on experience with financial reporting and technical accounting. This role will work closely with senior finance leadership and have exposure to complex accounting matters across a large, global organization. Responsibilities: Lead key aspects of the company’s financial reporting process, including preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures Research and evaluate complex accounting matters and determine the appropriate treatment under U.S. GAAP Draft and review technical accounting memos that clearly document conclusions and supporting guidance Monitor new accounting standards and pronouncements and assess their potential impact on the business Partner with accounting, finance and other business leaders on transactions and accounting issues Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and support the annual audit process Provide technical accounting guidance in areas that may include: Impairment, Derivatives and Hedge Accounting, Lease Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Business Combinations, and other complex or non-routine transactions Help strengthen reporting processes, controls and documentation as the organization continues to grow Requirements: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Foundation in public accounting, ideally including experience auditing financial statements Industry experience with hands-on financial reporting and technical accounting responsibilities Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research and interpret accounting guidance Experience preparing technical accounting memos, footnotes, and documenting accounting conclusions Comfortable working directly with senior leadership, external auditors and cross-functional teams Ability to take ownership of complex issues and communicate the accounting implications in a clear, practical way Experience within a large, global or complex organization is a plus CPA strongly preferred This is a good fit for someone who wants to stay close to the technical side of accounting without being limited to a pure technical accounting role.
