Master Scheduler
Noovo
Location: Nevada (Manufacturing Facility)
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Reports To: Inventory Control Manager The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing Noovo's Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring manufacturing activities are aligned with customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and business priorities.
This role serves as the central coordination point between Sales, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Engineering, and Quality to establish a realistic, achievable, and stable production schedule. The Master Scheduler translates customer orders and production requirements into a structured manufacturing plan, balancing demand against available resources, component lead times, labor capacity, and production constraints. Operating in a make-to-order, multi-stage manufacturing environment, this position is
responsible for maintaining visibility into each vehicle's production status, coordinating planned start and completion dates, and managing schedule changes to minimize disruption, material shortages, excess inventory, and production inefficiencies. Key Responsibilities
1. Master Production Scheduling
● Develop, maintain, and publish the Master Production Schedule based on confirmed customer orders, production priorities, and manufacturing capacity.
● Establish planned production start dates, stage completion dates, and final vehicle completion dates.
● Maintain VIN-specific production schedules reflecting vehicle models, configurations, and customer requirements.
● Coordinate production sequencing to optimize manufacturing flow and minimize disruptions.
● Monitor actual production performance against the MPS and adjust future schedules based on verified capacity and constraints.
● Maintain short-, medium-, and long-term production planning visibility.
● Ensure the MPS remains the authoritative production planning reference for the organization. 2. Capacity Planning & Production Loading
● Evaluate manufacturing capacity across production stages and departments.
● Coordinate with the Director, Manufacturing Operations, and Production Managers to establish realistic production rates.
● Identify bottlenecks, labor constraints, equipment limitations, and capacity imbalances.
● Analyze the impact of different vehicle models and configurations on production loading.
● Support production ramp planning and the transition to higher-volume manufacturing.
● Develop capacity scenarios to evaluate staffing requirements, overtime, additional shifts, and production expansion.
● Ensure production schedules reflect demonstrated capacity rather than unsupported assumptions. 3. Production Schedule Control & Change Management
● Establish and maintain a defined production schedule freeze or locked planning period.
● Evaluate requests for schedule changes, including customer modifications, material shortages, engineering changes, and production disruptions.
● Assess the operational impact of proposed changes before modifying the MPS.
● Coordinate approval of schedule changes with appropriate stakeholders.
● Communicate approved changes to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and other affected departments.
● Maintain a record of significant schedule changes and their causes.
● Minimize unnecessary schedule volatility that results in excess material movement, rework, inefficient labor utilization, or delayed deliveries. 4. Production Execution & Schedule Attainment
● Monitor daily production progress by VIN, manufacturing stage, and planned completion date.
● Compare actual stage completions against scheduled milestones.
● Identify schedule deviations and communicate risks to Manufacturing leadership.
● Coordinate recovery planning when production falls behind schedule.
● Analyze recurring causes of missed production commitments.
● Support daily SQDIP meetings with schedule attainment and delivery performance data.
● Maintain accurate visibility into work-in-process (WIP) and upcoming production requirements. 5. Cross-Functional Planning & Communication
● Lead regular production planning and scheduling meetings with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Engineering, Quality, and Sales.
● Align production commitments with actual manufacturing and material capabilities.
● Communicate schedule risks, capacity limitations, and changes to relevant stakeholders.
● Coordinate customer order priorities and delivery requirements with Sales and Customer Experience.
● Ensure production teams receive clear, stable, and actionable schedules.
● Escalate conflicts between customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
● Support leadership with production forecasts and scenario planning. 6. ERP, Master Data & Planning Systems
● Maintain production planning data within Noovo's ERP environment.
● Ensure accurate scheduling parameters, lead times, planning calendars, and production-order information.
● Partner with ERP Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve planning-data accuracy.
● Identify BOM, routing, inventory, or transaction issues that negatively affect MRP results.
● Support development of automated planning tools, dashboards, and reporting.
● Reduce reliance on disconnected spreadsheets and manual scheduling processes.
● Participate in ERP improvements and future system implementations. 7. Continuous Improvement & Planning Process Development
● Develop standardized scheduling procedures, planning calendars, reporting methods, and escalation processes.
● Identify opportunities to improve schedule stability, material readiness, production flow, and manufacturing efficiency.
● Analyze schedule performance and recurring planning failures.
● Partner with Manufacturing Operations to improve WIP control, bottleneck management, and production sequencing.
● Support Lean Manufacturing principles by reducing waiting, overproduction, excess inventory, unnecessary movement, and schedule variability.
● Establish scalable planning processes capable of supporting increased production volumes and mixed-model manufacturing. Key Performance Indicators
