Anesthesiologist

The Anesthesiologist assists in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department. Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. Care for patients in ICU, short stay unit, acute pain management, and emergency airway management. The Anesthesiologist provides clinical anesthesiology services and patient care pre- and post-op. Monitors patients while in surgery. Reviews medical files and lab results. The Anesthesiologist informs patients about risks associated with anesthesia.

Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent. Minimum of two years of recent experience. M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine. Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia as per ECFMC and FLEX requirements. Current licensure as a Physician and possess of a current license to practice medicine in Georgia.

Lodging/housing stipend: $107/daily

Car Rental/Mileage Stipend: $250/weekly

Duration of Assignment: 26 weeks

Estimated Privileging Timeframe: 90 days

Hours information: 8, 10, 12 hour shifts

Required Call: preferred

CRNA to MD ratio: 4:1

Case Mix: General, cardiac, neuro, ortho, OB, pediatrics
