Job Summary:

B&H is seeking an experienced AI SEO / Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Specialist to lead our efforts in optimizing visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms.

As AI search experiences continue to reshape how users discover products, research purchase decisions, and engage with brands, this role will help define and execute B&H's strategy across platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and future AI search ecosystems.

You will work at the intersection of technical SEO, content strategy, structured data, entity optimization, and AI search intelligence to ensure B&H is accurately understood, cited, and surfaced across AI-driven experiences.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands where search is heading and wants to help build enterprise-scale AI search strategies for one of the largest e-commerce destinations in photography, video, audio, computers, and professional technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive AI Search Visibility & GEO Strategy

• Own and evolve B&H's Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy.
• Monitor how B&H is represented across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other AI-driven discovery platforms.
• Identify opportunities to improve AI visibility, brand representation, citations, and authority signals.
• Analyze AI-generated responses and develop strategies to increase accuracy and brand presence.
• Track emerging AI-search behaviors and translate insights into actionable SEO initiatives.

Advance Technical AI Readiness

• Partner with Technical SEO and Engineering teams to improve AI crawler accessibility and content discoverability.
• Audit site architecture, internal linking, structured data, metadata, and semantic markup for AI-readiness.
• Improve entity recognition and machine understanding across products, categories, authors, brands, and content.
• Evaluate emerging protocols, standards, and technologies impacting AI search and retrieval systems.
• Identify and remove barriers that limit AI systems from understanding or citing B&H content.

Lead Content & Entity Optimization

• Collaborate with SEO and Content teams to develop AI-friendly content frameworks.
• Define strategies around entities, knowledge graphs, semantic relationships, and topical authority.
• Recommend and implement structured data enhancements across priority site experiences.
• Develop content recommendations centered around user intent, question-answer formats, expert guidance, and authoritative information.
• Create scalable optimization standards for category pages, product pages, buying guides, editorial content, and other key experiences.

Strengthen Authority & Citation Signals

• Analyze which sources and publishers are most frequently cited within AI-generated responses.
• Identify competitive gaps and opportunities to improve visibility across high-value topics.
• Partner with PR, Content, SEO, and Brand teams to strengthen authority, expertise, and trusted source signals.
• Develop strategies to increase citations, brand mentions, and authoritative references across the web.

Build AI Search Measurement & Reporting

• Define KPIs and reporting frameworks for AI search visibility and performance.
• Evaluate enterprise AI visibility platforms, monitoring solutions, and reporting tools.
• Measure trends across citations, visibility, referral traffic, competitive presence, and attribution.
• Develop testing methodologies to validate the impact of GEO initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in SEO, Technical SEO, Organic Search, or related search-focused disciplines.
• Deep understanding of search engine crawling, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, and structured data.
• Experience with , semantic SEO, entity optimization, and information architecture.
• Strong understanding of how LLMs, retrieval systems, answer engines, and AI-powered search products consume and synthesize information.
• Familiarity with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and advanced SEO methodologies.
• Experience using enterprise SEO platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Similarweb, Screaming Frog, Search Console, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing SEO for large-scale e-commerce websites.
• Hands-on experience analyzing AI search platforms including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
• Experience with entity SEO, knowledge graph optimization, digital PR, or authority-building initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI visibility platforms such as Profound, Semrush AI Toolkit, Similarweb AI Tracker, or related technologies.
