Position Description Plan, write, optimize and verify CNC CAM programs to fabricate close-tolerance metallic and nonmetallic parts on 5‑Axis, 3‑Axis vertical mill, and Lathe Live Tooling CNC machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Determine workpiece dimensions, select cutting tools, develop work-holding fixtures, and document process information using bill of materials, set‑up sheets, in‑process measurement checklists, and travelers. Reports to the Quality Manager. Responsibilities Plan, write, optimize and verify CNC CAM programs to fabricate close-tolerance metallic and nonmetallic parts in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Determine workpiece dimensions, select cutting tools, develop work-holding fixtures, and document process information using bill of materials, set‑up sheets, in‑process measurement checklists, and travelers. Assure CNC machining processes achieve product quality, yield and cycle time objectives. Utilize CAD, CAM, and CMM inspection software for process improvements. Experience with Solidworks, MasterCAM, PC‑DMIS and/or Vericut desirable. Demonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects. Follow established quality, maintenance, and safety standards. Requirements 3‑5 years CNC programming experience, minimum 2yrs experience programming with Mastercam required, Mill 3D (minimum) and Multi‑Axis. 3‑Axis and 5‑Axis tight‑tolerance programming experience with parts approx. sizes 1”x1”x1” up to 18”x18”x18”, primarily Aluminum, and a mix of SST, Kovar, steel, Delrin, etc. 2D dynamic mill, dynamic contour, facing, pocketing, peel 3D surfaces, opti‑rough, horizontal, parallel, multi‑parallel, swarf, deburr Proficient with CAD and solid models. PC‑DMIS CMM and Vericut programming experience desirable. Experience with hand inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges), CMM and other inspection equipment. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, bills of materials and work instructions. Familiarity with the principles of Lean Manufacturing. Able to provide written and verbal instructions to supplement drawings and specifications. Ability to follow safety rules and procedures relating to quality, operation and maintenance. Good judgment and problem solving skills. Organization and time management skills required.
