School RN in Cambridge, MA

Step into an important full-time contract opportunity near Cambridge, MA, supporting the well-being of a preschool student in a 1:1 school-based nursing role. Work weekdays, from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, and give specialized care and attention that makes a real difference in a young child's life.


What you'll bring:

• Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts
• Experience with pediatric nursing, ideally in a school or similar setting
• Proficiency in tracheostomy and airway management, including trach care and suctioning
• Skilled in the administration and monitoring of prescribed oxygen therapy
• Familiarity with enteral feeding tubes, including performing feedings and administering medication
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with educators, families, and care providers
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability in working with young children and supporting their needs

Key responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing support for a female preschool student throughout the school day
• Ride the bus to and from school with the student, ensuring her safety and well-being during transport
• Administer daily tracheal suctioning, ongoing airway management, and prescribed oxygen as needed
• Manage enteral feeding tube care and handle feeding and medication tasks per medical protocol
• Maintain clear communication with the student's care team and school staff
• Complete documentation, monitoring, and reporting on health status and interventions
