We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout the Memphis area. This role is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through final completion while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

The ideal candidate has a proven background working for a commercial general contractor and excels at leading field teams, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining productive, safe, and organized jobsites. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to proactively solve field challenges while delivering exceptional project results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from project startup through final completion.
• Supervise subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and trade partners to maintain project schedules, quality, and productivity.
• Develop, update, and manage short-term and long-term construction schedules.
• Coordinate project sequencing, site logistics, manpower, equipment, material deliveries, and daily field operations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively resolve field issues, scheduling conflicts, and constructability challenges.
• Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite safety programs.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, specifications, and project documentation to support successful field execution.
• Partner with Project Managers to coordinate procurement, scheduling, budgets, project milestones, and overall project progress.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and daily planning discussions.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, progress photos, and project records.
• Coordinate inspections, punch-list completion, owner walkthroughs, project turnover, and final closeout activities.
• Build strong working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience managing commercial construction projects.
• Proven experience leading commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, industrial, mixed-use, or institutional construction projects.
• Previous experience working for a commercial general contractor is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and field operations.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades simultaneously on active construction sites.
• Ability to maintain project schedules while delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Candidates located in or willing to relocate to the Memphis area are preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete professional reference checks and a pre-employment drug screening.
