Certifications: BLS, ONS/ONCC (Chemotherapy Biotherapy) certification is a plus


Must-Have:
Experience with general MedSurg patients and oncology patients
Ability to administer chemotherapy and manage chest tubes
Experience with titrating Heparin drips


Description:
This unit is a MedSurg/Oncology unit with 36 beds.
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6.
Common diagnoses include general MedSurg patients, post-operative patients, and oncology patients with complications.
Nurses are expected to administer chemotherapy, manage chest tubes, and provide care for patients with neutropenic precautions.
There may be occasional psychiatric patients requiring 1:1 supervision.
Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips using Phillips monitors.
Charge nurses are available 24/7, with day shift nurses not taking patient assignments.
There are 3 CNAs on days and nights to assist with patient care.
Respiratory therapy manages equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP.
Shifts are 12 hours, with scheduling created 4-6 weeks in advance.
Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.
Holiday shifts will be incorporated into the permanent staff rotation schedule.
Floating may occur to other MedSurg/Tele units as necessary.
Dress code requires royal blue scrubs.
