Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Machinist Lead to join a growing manufacturing team in Owasso. This first-shift leadership position combines hands-on machining expertise with production coordination, administrative responsibilities, and team leadership. The successful candidate will split time between the shop floor and the office, supporting daily operations while driving quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience & Skills
• Previous machining experience required
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office , especially Excel
• Excellent computer, data entry, and documentation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate effectively with production, management, and cross-functional teams
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead and support daily machining operations to ensure production goals are achieved
• Assist with production planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Office applications for production reporting, tracking, and documentation
• Communicate production priorities, schedules, and operational updates with employees and management
• Monitor production quality, efficiency, and process performance
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues using sound technical judgment and problem-solving skills
• Maintain accurate production records and operational documentation
• Support employee training, coaching, and ongoing skill development
• Promote workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist management with operational projects and additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience
• Experience leading machining teams in a production environment
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
• Experience with production scheduling and workflow management
• Demonstrated leadership potential with an interest in advancing into management roles

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement between office and production areas
• Ability to safely work around machining equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable performing both administrative and hands-on production responsibilities throughout the workday
