Position Title: Elementary Paraprofessional – Student Support (Health & Academic) Location: Wellsville Elementary, Wellsville USD 289 Start Date: March 2026 Employment Type: Monday - Friday Salary: Level 3 Pay - Based on ECKCE paraprofessional pay scale Position Overview ECKCE is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated paraprofessional to provide individualized support to an elementary student with health, functional and academic needs. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in a child's school experience by promoting independence, learning, and well-being within a supportive educational environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct support to a student throughout the school day, including academic assistance and health-related monitoring or care. Collaborate with the classroom teacher, school nurse, and special education staff to implement accommodations, modifications, and health protocols. Assist with academic tasks including instruction, assignments, and classroom participation. Ensure student safety and access to learning across school settings (classroom, playground, lunchroom, etc.). Maintain accurate records and communication logs as required. Support the development of the student's independence and self-advocacy skills. Participate in relevant training related to the student's medical and educational needs. Qualifications High school diploma; associate's degree or higher preferred. Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting strongly preferred. Ability to follow health care plans and accommodate medical needs as trained by school personnel or licensed professionals. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and safety procedures. Working Conditions Position requires physical activity, including assisting with mobility or medical equipment. Training will be provided for specific health-related procedures or equipment as needed.
