Senior Automation & Data Infrastructure Engineer (Remote)

You'll help shape the future of accounting by designing, building, and maintaining the automation and data infrastructure that powers our business. This isn't a support role—it's a builder role .

You'll own critical reporting systems, AI-powered workflows , and business automations that touch every department. From Power BI dashboards and SQL pipelines to GPT- and Claude-powered solutions , you'll continuously improve how teams work, make decisions, and serve clients.

This is a full-time Independent Contractor role requiring exclusivity after hire.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

AI Automation and Workflow Development

Build the systems that eliminate repetitive work.

• Design and deploy AI-powered automations using GPT, Claude, Zapier, Make, APIs , and modern SaaS platforms
• Create scalable internal workflows that improve operations across Finance, HR, Sales, Client Success, and Operations
• Build integrations between business applications using APIs and automation platforms
• Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through intelligent automation

Data & Business Intelligence

Transform data into reliable business insights.

• Own and maintain production Power BI dashboards used by leadership
• Build, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines using Python, SQL, and DAX
• Manage scheduled refreshes, gateway connections, database structures, and reporting infrastructure
• Develop reporting solutions that support operational and financial decision-making

Data Quality & Governance

Reliable reporting starts with trusted data .

• Maintain data integrity across multiple business systems
• Resolve inconsistencies between financial, operational, payroll, and CRM data
• Design sustainable data structures that support future growth
• Ensure reporting accuracy through testing, validation, and documentation

Process Improvement & Documentation

Build once. Improve forever.

• Document systems, workflows, automations, and technical processes
• Partner with stakeholders to understand operational pain points
• Recommend scalable improvements that simplify business operations
• Support team adoption by creating clear documentation and training materials

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 3+ years building business automations and data solutions within a B2B environment
• Strong Power BI experience including dashboards, data models, DAX , and production reporting
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL for data transformation and automation
• Experience using automation platforms such as Zapier, Make , or similar low-code tools
• Practical experience leveraging AI platforms such as GPT or Claude for workflow automation
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, structured tables, and connected workbooks
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations , and modern SaaS ecosystems
• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Time-zone alignment : Comfortable working US business hours

Preferred (nice to have):

• Experience with Supabase or relational database management
• Basic accounting knowledge including General Ledger structure and Chart of Accounts
• Experience working with financial or accounting software
• Familiarity with modern cloud business applications
