About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Telemetry experience preferred Description: 36 or 48 hour weeks available. Please indicate preference in application. RNs work with a patient population that includes general medical/surgical adult patients. Patient population also includes cardiac patients on antiarrhythmic drips and neuro patients post-TIA/CVA. Registered Nurses maintain antiarrhythmic medication drips and insulin drips for DKA. They perform NIHSS assessments. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Staff may need to float to other medical and surgical departments as needed. The daily census is 18 patients, with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6. Staff work closely with a multidisciplinary group of providers. The focus is on delivering patient and family-centered care while facilitating discharges and throughput. The unit features remote and wall mount telemetry, a bladder scanner, vein light, and Epic charting software. Dress code includes hunter green scrubs. Weekend work is required on an every other weekend basis. No call coverage is expected.
