Location 4812 East 30th Avenue,Hutchinson, KS, 67502,United States Job Category Sous Chef, Chef Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Contact information Email View email address on click.appcast.io Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Act as the lead kitchen manager in the absence of the Executive Chef Supervise and coordinate daily food production for all dining outlets and events Ensure kitchen operations run efficiently, safely, and in a timely manner Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency Culinary Execution Assist in the development, preparation, and execution of menus, including daily features and weekly specials Oversee the preparation of soups, sauces, and specialty items to ensure adherence to standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation Ensure all dishes are prepared and plated to the highest quality standards Staff Supervision & Development Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of kitchen staff Provide ongoing coaching to promote skill development and consistency Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Food Safety & Sanitation Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Monitor proper food storage, rotation, and handling procedures Regularly inspect kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and proper operation Support cost control measures to ensure efficient and profitable kitchen operation that support the member experience Assist with inventory management, ordering, and menu costing Prepare reports, schedules, and other administrative tasks as assigned Problem Solving & Service Excellence Address and resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively Support a culture of excellence in member and guest service Maintain professionalism and composure in a high-paced environment Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary/leadership role Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred High School diploma or equivalent Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards Excellent leadership, communication, and organization skills Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and member service PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO Grasp, lift, carry, or transport up to 50 pounds Stand for long periods of time Stand, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Perform the duties of this job while exposed to outside weather conditions Clearly and effectively communicate ideas verbally in a timely and articulate manner Summary Starting pay is commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role in a high-end restaurant or country club. Culinary degree or relevant certification required. Strong leadership and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations. Serv‑Safe Certified is preferred, but not required. Ability to effectively and professionally deal with members, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, Club Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Club.
