The ideal candidate will bring an established network and a meaningful track record of Consumer-related advisory revenue, while having the ability to help shape and expand the firm’s Consumer franchise.What people are saying about the firm?“Direct seat at the leadership table”“Compete and win against the best Consumer teams”“Plenty of deal flow and white space for Senior Bankers”Title: Consumer Investment Banking – Managing Director Location: New York, NY Salary: $300,000 – $400,000 Base + Bonus / Revenue SharingGeneral Responsibilities* Lead the growth and expansion of the Consumer Investment Banking franchise * Originate and execute M&A and strategic advisory transactions across the Consumer sector * Generate new business through established relationships with corporate executives, private equity sponsors, family offices and other financial sponsors * Develop and maintain long-term relationships with C-suite executives, Boards of Directors and other senior decision-makers * Lead buy-side and sell-side M&A processes from initial origination through closing * Identify opportunities across Consumer Technology, Retail, E-Commerce, Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Restaurants, Consumer Services, Leisure & Hospitality, Beauty & Personal Care and other Consumer verticals * Develop and lead pitches, strategic presentations and other business development initiatives * Partner closely with senior leadership to develop and execute the firm’s broader Consumer strategy * Leverage the firm’s global platform and full-service capabilities to provide clients with comprehensive strategic and financing solutions * Work collaboratively with Directors, VPs, Associates and Analysts to execute transactions and deliver exceptional client service * Recruit, mentor and develop junior and mid-level Consumer bankers * Serve as a senior market-facing representative of the firm and enhance its reputation within the Consumer Investment Banking community * Help identify opportunities to expand coverage into new Consumer sub-sectors and build additional sources of fee revenueConsumer Sub-SectorsRelevant expertise may include, but is not limited to:* Consumer Technology * Retail * E-Commerce & Digital Commerce * Consumer Products * Food & Beverage * Restaurants & Dining * Beauty & Personal Care * Household & Personal Products * Apparel & Footwear * Consumer Services * Leisure & Hospitality * Travel & Recreation * Specialty Consumer * Automotive Aftermarket * Direct-to-Consumer * Consumer Internet & Digital PlatformsGeneral Requirements* 15-20+ years of Investment Banking or relevant Corporate Advisory experience * Significant Consumer Investment Banking experience at the Managing Director, Partner or equivalent senior level * Demonstrated track record of originating and closing M&A transactions * Established relationships with senior executives, Boards, private equity sponsors and other relevant Consumer industry participants * Proven ability to generate meaningful advisory revenue and develop a sustainable book of business * Strong buy-side and sell-side M&A experience * Deep expertise in one or more Consumer sub-sectors * Ability to independently lead transactions and manage senior client relationships * Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing junior bankers * Mid-market Investment Banking experience is strongly preferred; candidates from leading Elite Boutiques, Bulge Brackets or other established platforms will also be considered * Strong understanding of Consumer industry trends, valuation dynamics and current M&A activity * Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills * Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to help build and expand a growing Consumer franchise
