Job Title Director, Data Center Construction (West) Job Overview Lead construction activities for data center delivery (speculative and build‑to‑suit) within Prologis’ West Region, collaborating with data center, development, deployment, and regional partners. Key Responsibilities Coach the data center project management team across performance, staffing, and growth. Lead the construction process for new‑build and retrofit projects, ensuring alignment with company standards and client requirements from concept to completion. Work closely with the design team to uphold design integrity and resolve construction challenges related to design intent. Own the portfolio performance (cost, schedule, quality, safety) and monitor project milestones to ensure timely delivery. Mentor and lead junior colleagues by providing feedback, supervising performance, sharing expertise, and honing judgment skills. Drive innovation and initiatives that demonstrate lean construction, GC bid negotiations, and design optimization against targets. Develop and own relationships with general contractors and procure cost‑saving measures. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in a similar role in real‑estate development (data‑center focused), civil engineering, architecture, or construction management. Proficiency in MS Project, BlueBeam, Google Earth, and Microsoft Office tools. Experience championing a project from acquisition through due diligence, entitlements, and permitting. Self‑motivated and able to multi‑task and prioritize with minimal direction. Hardworking, positive demeanor, customer‑service oriented, and a standout colleague. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proactive approach to solutions and problem‑solving. Willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Ability to travel as necessary (approximately 30%). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil or Structural), or equivalent experience. Experience on design and build projects and with land development or construction management. Additional experience supporting construction projects for at least three years if lacking an engineering, architectural, or real‑estate development degree. Project management experience with a general contractor or owner’s representative. Compensation and Benefits Hiring salary range: $166,000 – $229,000. Salary and total compensation—including bonus target and LTI—will be determined by candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data.
