Yard Equipment Operator

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Equipment Operator to join our mulch manufacturing team. This hands‑on role involves operating heavy equipment and ensuring efficient production. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment, including wheel loaders (Volvo L90), excavators, grinders, and dye machines. Keep the yard area neat and organized. Monitor production processes to ensure consistent, high‑quality mulch output. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and minimize downtime. Load, move, and process raw materials safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures. Qualifications Prior experience operating heavy equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude (diagnose and fix minor equipment issues). Experience in manufacturing, landscaping materials, or a similar environment preferred. Ability to work outdoors in a fast‑paced and varying weather conditions. Dependable, hardworking, and safety‑focused. Willingness to work a Monday–Saturday schedule. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to lift and handle freight/materials up to 75 pounds. Fluent in English; bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus. Will pass a background check and drug screening. Working Conditions Outdoor work in noise, hot or cold temperatures. Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Monday–Saturday work schedule. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $19.00 – $20.91 per hour (varies by experience and location). Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime, performance‑based bonuses, commissions, car allowance, and reimbursement of travel expenses.
