Location: Los Angeles, CA — On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join our Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience and is proficient in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
This position will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and work with management to ensure timely reconciliations and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor bills, customer invoices, and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding accounting items.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation and assist with accountant and auditor requests.
- Use Excel to prepare schedules, reconcile data, and support financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
- Hands-on proficiency in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential financial information.
- Availability to work on-site at our Los Angeles office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining books for multiple companies and reconciling intercompany transactions.
- Experience with payroll journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
