Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

This is a float position. Must be willing to float to all units, including pediatrics, children, adolescents, and adults. Candidates must be able to start as specified; no exceptions. Effective immediately, candidates residing within a certain distance from the facility may be subject to a rate decrease. Core competencies include taking and recording vital signs and, as assigned, interviewing new and returning patients to determine health status. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of specimen collection for toxicology testing and obtaining release of information documentation as required. Administer general health screening tools to new and existing patients. Meet the documentation and communication standards to convey necessary patient information to the treatment team. Consistently address issues of self-disclosure per program guidelines. Maintain appropriate demeanor as a representative of the program and serve as a role model for patients. Responsible for the care of patients' property. Able to set limits and follow through by teaching alternate behavior. Ability to role model and orient new CNAs to the unit. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in computer use and possess strong organizational skills. Exhibit essential knowledge and assessment skills to recognize and report unusual symptoms and address special needs as they arise. Please note blackout dates for time off requests.
