Location 1005 VINTAGE VALLEY PKWY,Zillah, WA, 98953-9671,United States Base Pay $17.25 - $17.25 / Hour Job Category Development Employee Type Seasonal - FT Non-Exempt Manage Others No Yakima Chief Ranches, LLC Job Description: Field Technician Reports to: Plot Supervisor Job Description The Field Technician at Yakima Chief Ranches (YCR) is primarily focused on supporting the Plot Supervisor in operational tasks related to hop breeding. Specific duties and responsibilities Manual work of general field operations Excavation of hop rhizomes Field preparation and cleaning Set, adjust, or repair trellises Establishment of irrigation systems Workers will manually train (wrap) hop vines on a rope Plant, transplant, and care for plants Supports the Plot Supervisor in field activities at all experimental sites Supports the Plot Supervisor with harvesting activities Workers must be able to perform all work activities accurately and efficiently Physical Requirements Bending, kneeling, and twisting repetitively throughout work shift. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds required. Long-term standing or walking on uneven ground during work shift. Repetitive wrist movement that encompasses squeezing, rotating and bending. Arm movement encompasses extension, raising and bending Qualifications Education, knowledge, skills, and training required: Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions. Must be able to understand and follow all safety procedures. Ability to climb ladders and occasionally perform elevated work Ability to use hand tools, including cutting knifes Experience working in agricultural operations. Knowledge of plant care, growth phases and plant management.
