Please visit our web site at Purpose and Description As a lead within the Accounting team, work with the CFO to carry out the company’s accounting and finance functions. Essential Job Functions Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule. Compile and analyze data and create reports to assist leadership in meeting overall financial goals and objectives. Assist in preparation of budget. Monthly account reconciliations. Assist with company reporting requirements and audits. Process vendor payables and customer receipts Serve as backup to other accounting team members Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements. Process bi-monthly payroll through ADP Workforce Now. Compilation of revenue reports. Monthly and quarterly invoicing. Ad hoc requests and projects for Executive Leadership. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in accounting or finance. Advanced degree a plus, but not required. 2+ years of experience in an accounting/finance role, preferably in the insurance industry. Desired Skills and Abilities Must be a fast learner with strong attention to detail. Proven knowledge of accounting principles and practices along with the ability to analyze financial data and provide accurate and timely reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of functional areas and levels. Demonstrates accountability for results and understands the financial impact of decisions. Must have the ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred. Advanced Excel skills required. Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks. Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy. Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner. Experience processing payroll with ADP Workforce Now a plus.
