At Kopius we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team! The project is within the Building industry and is based in Chicago , IL . The team develops a leading Intelligent Buildings software solution that is disrupting how buildings operate and how people engage with buildings - from real estate owners/investors, operators, building engineers, to tenants and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the migration to Unity Catalog, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and scripts using Python.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to support migration workflows.
• Document processes, issues, and solutions during the migration project.
• Provide insights or support for data reporting and visualization tasks as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Intermediate/Advanced English skills with strong communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, quick learner, and adaptable to new technologies and legacy systems.
• Thrives in a team environment, actively contributes to collaboration, fostering a sense of community.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution. Embraces new ideas to enhance problem-solving processes.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with data engineering or data analysis tasks.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Power BI is preferred.
• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Ability to work independently in high-impact project environment.

• Employment: Full-time, long-term U.S. role.
• Location: Chicago, IL (occasional work from the office).
• Compensation: Base salary $125,000 - $180,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship, transfer, or extension of work authorization now or in the future.
