Job Opportunity: Geriatric or Neuropsychiatrist

Our organization is on the lookout for a fellowship-trained and board-certified Geriatric or Neuropsychiatrist, who also possesses training and experience in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). This role is within a tertiary academic practice that caters to both rural and urban populations. We welcome candidates whose professional background reflects a strong interest and expertise in addressing the complex psychiatric needs of older adults. Preference will be given to those whose ECT credentials stem from an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) ECT training program.

Successful applicants will be exceptional clinician-educators dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and their families, and eager to collaborate with a team of like-minded professionals.

• Conduct evaluations and provide treatment for older adult patients facing a variety of complex psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate closely with primary care and specialty care providers using a shared electronic medical record (EMR).
• Engage with a multidisciplinary clinical team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
• Participate in the care continuum that includes a 100-bed hospital and a dedicated 21-bed geriatric/neuropsychiatry inpatient program.
• Administer electroconvulsive therapy to both inpatients and outpatients at various locations within the system.

Our division serves as a significant educational resource, training and mentoring Psychiatry residents, Geriatric Medicine fellows, medical students from Tufts University School of Medicine, as well as Social Work and Psychology interns. We foster a culture of continuous quality improvement, consistently achieving excellent performance in safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. Physicians are encouraged to apply for faculty appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine.

• Board certification in Geriatric or Neuropsychiatry.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited ECT training program is preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in the psychiatric care of older adults.
