Surgical Tech

JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled and dedicated GI/Endo Technician to join our team. This role supports diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient patient care environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of gastrointestinal procedures and equipment, along with excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, including scopes, light sources, processors, and accessories. Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, ERCPs). Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopic equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment for the endoscopy suite. Ensure patient safety and comfort during preparation, procedure, and recovery phases. Document procedures and patient information accurately. Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate as needed. Schedule / Shift Specific shift details will be discussed during the interview process. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training/experience. Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control principles. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technologist in an endoscopy setting. Familiarity with various types of endoscopic procedures and instrumentation. Certifications Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Skills Proficient in the setup and maintenance of GI equipment. Knowledge of sterile processing and high-level disinfection. Ability to anticipate physician needs during procedures.
