The Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist manages recruitment and onboarding activities across JSL to support timely hiring and a positive candidate and new-hire experience. This role partners with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, coordinates pre-employment requirements, facilitates new employee orientation, and ensures onboarding documentation and processes are completed accurately and consistently. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Manages recruitment activities for assigned positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and communication with candidates and hiring managers. Partners with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, support effective candidate selection, and maintain timely movement throughout the hiring process. Coordinates pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including required screenings, background checks, verifications, fingerprints, health-related clearances, and other applicable documentation. Maintains consistent communication with candidates and new hires from offer acceptance through completion of onboarding and orientation. Ensures new-hire records, forms, system entries, and required documentation are complete, accurate, timely, and maintained appropriately. Plans and facilitates new employee orientation and monitors completion of required onboarding activities. Supports job description updates, recruitment advertising, employee referral tracking, and other recruiting initiatives designed to strengthen JSL's candidate pipeline. Maintains recruiting and onboarding data and provides reports on vacancies, hiring activity, time-to-fill, onboarding status, and other workforce metrics as requested. Represents JSL professionally with candidates and community partners and supports recruitment events, career fairs, and other talent outreach activities. Partners with the Human Resources team on department initiatives, employee engagement activities, and special projects as needed. Complies with JSL policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Minimum of two years of human resources, recruiting, or talent acquisition experience preferred. Experience with Paycom or a comparable HRIS/applicant tracking system preferred. Working knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and pre-employment screening practices. Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and other systems used for recruiting, onboarding, reporting, and communication. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively with candidates, employees, hiring managers, and leadership.
