Senior Laboratory Automation Engineer
Colossal Biosciences
Colossal Biosciences seeks a Senior Laboratory Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated systems for cell and molecular biology workflows in Dallas. The role involves supporting daily operations, troubleshooting instrumentation, optimizing integrated automation systems, and collaborating with scientists to ensure reliable laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation methods using laboratory control platforms
- Provide hands-on support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for automated instrumentation
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and software issues to minimize downtime
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment upgrades, and validation activities
- Coordinate issue triage with end users, vendors, and service providers; train users on automation systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific discipline, or related field
- Hands-on experience with laboratory automation platforms and instrumentation
- Proficiency with Hamilton Venus/Revolution and HighRes Cellario schedulers
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, software, and system integration issues
- Knowledge of equipment validation, maintenance procedures, and documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and process improvement mindset
