Join our growing team as a Senior Accountant.ResponsibilitiesYou will be the owner of accounts payable and payroll functions. You will also provide general ledger accounting support across our multiple legal entities in Unanet. You will have 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, a strong command of Unanet, and the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.Daily TasksManage organization setup and maintenance, including new vendors, customers, employees, and 1099sEnter vendor invoices accurately and in a timely mannerReview bank activity daily to capture and record auto-pay expensesServe as the Finance point of contact for expense report review and approvalProcess and post expense reportsAdminister Unanet user setup and accessWeekly TasksRun weekly AP aging reports and process approved vendor payments in coordination with FP&AProcess vendor payments in Unanet and set up ACH/wire transfers in the bankTrack 1099 annual paymentsManage corporate AMEX credit card program, including: Importing AMEX data into UnanetManaging corporate subscriptionsEntering AMEX transactions in Unanet via journal entries (JEs)Work with vendors to reconcile any discrepanciesSemi-Monthly TasksProcess semi-monthly payroll for multiple entities in PaylocityProcess expense report payments in PaylocityEnter payroll transactions in Unanet via journal entriesPost labor costs once timesheets are finalizedManage garnishments, including setup, deductions, and remittanceProcess 401(k) contributions post-payrollManage 401(k) loan deductions and trackingHandle payroll tax notices and serve as the point of contact for communications with Paycor on payroll tax mattersResolve payroll-related state tax issues as they ariseMonthly TasksPerform bank reconciliations for multiple bank accountsComplete month-end balance sheet account reconciliations for all entitiesPrepare and submit reclassification and month-end journal entriesQuarterly ReportingPrepare and submit B&O local tax reportsReview payroll tax reports for accuracyAnnual Tasks & ReportingProvide support during the annual auditFile personal property tax and BPOL tax returnsTrack and report 1099s by January 31OtherPerform other duties as assigned within Finance and across other functional areas as neededQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience3+ years of experience in an accounting roleProficiency in Unanet (required — candidates without Unanet experience will not be considered)Experience with accounts payable and payroll processingKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote environmentAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assigned functionsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelDesired Qualifications:Experience with Paylocity payroll platformMulti-legal entity (MLE) accounting experienceExperience supporting government contractorsFamiliarity with B&O tax filings and personal property/BPOL tax reportingWhat You Can Expect From UsThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $90,000 - $100,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
