MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience in our healthcare facility. This position involves managing front office operations, including scheduling appointments, patient check-ins, and processing medical records, all while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Manage incoming calls, direct them to appropriate staff, and answer basic inquiries.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time.
• Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical histories.
• Handle billing and payment processing, as well as resolve any billing inquiries.
• Coordinate communication between healthcare providers and patients.
• Ensure the front office area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist with medical transcription, as needed.
• Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks, such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports.
• Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare is advantageous.
• Previous experience as a medical receptionist, healthcare administration or related fields preferred.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
