As a Sushi Cook, you will: Develop your culinary skills and create food you’re proud of, whether you’re new to the kitchen or experienced. Uphold Earls’ standards through exceptional food production, ensuring consistent quality control and safety. Foster team collaboration by contributing to a connected and committed kitchen environment. Take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety of your station, maintaining high kitchen standards. Express your passion for hospitality through excellent execution, product knowledge, and a commitment to the guest experience. Prepare high-quality sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and specialty items, ensuring top-tier presentation and taste. Manage the sushi station, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to refine menu offerings and introduce new ideas. Monitor sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed. What we need from you: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience as a Sushi Cook in a high-volume, high-quality sushi restaurant. Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills, fish butchery, rice preparation, and plating. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, particularly with raw fish and seafood. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards. Creativity and passion for sushi with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging experience for your team members and guests. A willingness to learn and an openness to feedback, coaching, and mentorship. Certification(s) to responsibly work in and create a safe and clean environment for food production and consumption (ie: State Specific Food Handlers Card) is a bonus. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. The ability to legally work in the USA.
