Summary About the Position: Serves as the supervisor over the Range Operations Maintenance section at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a TERM position not to exceed 2 years. Works under the direction of the Supervisory Range Planner who provides general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities and policies, and relies on the incumbent to control work operations and accomplish an adequate quantity and quality of work. Coordinates with outside agencies for similar related work functions. Informs supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Determines equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Assures that material is ordered and delivered to work sites so as not to delay work. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
