• Call: Weeknight and weekend pager call preferred; holiday call preferred
• Case Types: General, Orthopedic, Urology; regional anesthesia proficiency required (regional blocks, peripheral nerve blocks)
• Number of Anesthesia Rooms / ORs: 4
• Charting / EMR: Epic

Job Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMG and FLEX certifications
• Completion of an accredited residency in Anesthesiology
• Board Certification in Anesthesiology
• Current Virginia physician license or willingness to obtain state licensure
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in anesthesiology
• Regional anesthesia proficiency (experience with nerve blocks and regional techniques required)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide safe anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain/verify informed consent
• Discuss anesthetic options, risks, and perioperative plans with patients and families
• Monitor and manage patients’ physiological status throughout procedures
• Perform clinical interventions and advanced airway management as indicated
• Coordinate perioperative care and communicate effectively with surgical and nursing teams
• Manage independent cases (no CRNA supervision required)
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and adhere to institutional policies
