MIG Welder - Steel Tray Racks

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder who will be responsible for fitting and welding steel tray racks for grocery stores. The position involves MIG welding on 18-gauge to 14-gauge aluminum in a non-climate controlled facility, using a thumb switch and silicon bronze filler rod. The role requires an ability to read blueprints and perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Set up welding machines based on the job or using a Welding Procedure Specification.
• Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
• MIG weld steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings.
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications.
• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Assemble items as instructed by the floor supervisor.
• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
• Follow all company rules and policies.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 60 pounds).
• Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

Essential Skills

• Experience with aluminum and/or stainless steel required.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding required.
• Ability to lift heavy items up to 60 pounds consistently required.
• Ability to identify and measure material.
• Ability to produce quality products consistently.
• Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
• Must be reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Willing to take a weld test at the interview.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
• One-year related experience and/or training is a must.
• Blueprint reading skills are preferred.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial, non-climate controlled manufacturing plant. Regular hours are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Be prepared for physically demanding tasks in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Grand Prairie,TX.
