LEC uses a custom-built, AI-enabled recruiting process that includes a proprietary candidate diagnostic tool. Our Community Recruiter will play an essential role in bringing talent into that process and helping us continue to improve it. Role Description LEC is seeking an experienced, outgoing Community Recruiter to work onsite at our Amherst location and build a strong recruiting presence throughout Amherst and the greater Buffalo area. The primary focus of this position is sourcing: generating a consistent, scalable pipeline of qualified applicants through community outreach, partnerships, events, and referrals. Our diagnostic process and hiring team lead formal candidate assessment, interviews, and selection. We need someone who gets out into the community, opens doors, builds relationships, and follows through. You should enjoy becoming the person schools, workforce organizations, local businesses, and community leaders call when someone needs a job. Most of your time will be dedicated to developing recruiting channels, engaging prospective candidates, and helping them enter and complete LEC’s application and diagnostic process. You will work closely with our hiring team to understand staffing needs and focus your outreach on the people and places most likely to produce successful hires. This is an onsite position with frequent local travel for outreach, partner visits, and recruiting events. Key Responsibilities Source candidates at scale. Generate the applicant volume and quality needed to meet hiring goals through direct outreach, community relationships, events, referrals, and digital sourcing. Build community partnerships. Establish ongoing referral relationships with workforce development agencies, career centers, colleges, universities, vocational programs, local businesses, and community organizations. Create a visible local presence. Represent LEC at job fairs, campus events, community gatherings, and other opportunities to connect with prospective employees. Develop new recruiting channels. Identify untapped talent pools, arrange recruiting visits, organize events, and create repeatable sources of qualified applicants. Turn conversations into applications. Explain available opportunities clearly, help interested candidates take the next step, and follow up to encourage completion. Support LEC’s AI-enabled recruiting process. Guide applicants through our custom diagnostic and recruiting workflow, answer process questions, and coordinate handoffs to the hiring team. Help improve our tools. Share candidate feedback and field observations to help refine the diagnostic, communications, and applicant experience. Manage sourcing activity and results. Maintain accurate records and track applicant volume, referral activity, application completion, and resulting hires by source. Stay aligned with hiring needs. Partner with hiring leaders to adjust outreach based on staffing priorities, timelines, and candidate requirements. Build trust through follow-through. Keep candidates and referral partners informed, responsive, and engaged. Qualifications Demonstrated success in community recruiting, talent sourcing, recruiting outreach, or high-volume applicant generation. Experience sourcing through job fairs, workforce development organizations, educational institutions, local businesses, and referral networks. Strong relationship-building skills, with the confidence to approach new people, introduce LEC, and establish productive partnerships. A track record of turning outreach into qualified applicants and measurable recruiting results. A proactive, resourceful approach to finding talent and developing new sourcing opportunities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain job opportunities clearly and accurately. Strong organization and follow-up habits, including managing multiple partnerships, events, and candidate conversations. Comfort using recruiting platforms, applicant tracking systems, social media, and AI-enabled tools. Ability to work onsite in Amherst and travel regularly throughout the surrounding community, with reliable transportation. Experience sourcing for contact centers, customer service, BPO, or other high-volume hiring environments is preferred. Familiarity with Amherst and the greater Buffalo community is a plus. Relevant practical experience is valued; a degree is not required. What Success Looks Like You build a network that consistently sends qualified applicants to LEC.
