Air Force Reserve Technician Position

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to assist the Chief, Customer Support in administering all aspects of the section. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. DUTIES:

• Assists the section chief program manager in administration of the Customer Support Programs. Develops and administers a viable Individualized Newcomer Treatment and Orientation (INTRO) program and publishes welcome packages for new unit members to include applicable information with regards to the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program.
• Responsible for various special Customer Support programs such as Memorialization program and Casualty Services program. Also responsible for the wing INTRO program and family care responsibilities. Administers actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserves (AROWS-R).
• Assists in advising commander and staff on various Customer Support programs. Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and performs functional review of data reliability. Responsible for input of data pertaining to customer support programs.
• Provides training to ARTs, AGRs, traditional reservists, civilian employees, etc. Conducts in-house, classroom, and on-the-job training on applicable elements of the program.
• May be required to perform Installation Personnel Readiness duties and/or assist as directed. Receives monitors and controls contingency, OPLAN exercises or rotational TDY requirements levied by base or higher headquarters and provide necessary documents to unit commander for use in selection of personnel.

• Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).
• The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non- ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
• May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, publications, etc. regarding maintenance of records, casualty assistance, and entitlement determinations (active duty and reserve). OR EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education. Education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of this position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

• Knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, and publications.
• Knowledge of the unit mission.
• Comprehensive knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software.
• Ability to analyze data products.
• Good knowledge and control of the English language.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Installation Personnel Readiness programs
