Project Cost Control Analyst

Position Summary Witt O’Brien’s is seeking a Project Cost Control Analyst to join our organization. The analyst will monitor and manage financial expenditure within projects, working with dynamic consultants and clients in a fast‑paced environment. Position Details Reports to: Program Controls Manager Location: US Virgin Islands (Hybrid) Position Type: Regular Full‑Time FLSA Status: Exempt Pay: Salary (commensurate with experience) Travel: 10% Essential Job Functions Monitor and track project costs ensuring accurate recording and proper categorization. Maintain cost‑management databases, systems, and spreadsheets for real‑time visibility. Verify and validate cost data, invoices, and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance. Prepare and update project budgets, cost baselines, and financial forecasts. Collaborate with project teams to identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions. Support cash‑flow forecasts and cost projections throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze actual project costs against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances. Prepare detailed cost reports, including performance metrics, trend analyses, and variance explanations. Recommend cost‑saving opportunities and manage cost overruns. Evaluate cost impacts of change orders, scope adjustments, and schedule changes. Maintain updated cost estimates reflecting changes and budget effects. Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and finance to ensure accurate cost management. Present cost data, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Assist in preparing financial presentations and dashboards for internal and external reviews. Identify and implement improvements in cost control processes and tools. Help maintain and enhance cost reporting systems for greater efficiency. Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Minimum 2 years of experience in cost analysis or related role. Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting principles. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial data analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong computer skills, including MS Project, Word, and Excel. Detail‑oriented with focus on accuracy and compliance. Ability to identify and implement process improvements. Ability to multi‑task, organize, and prioritize multiple projects. Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
