Business Development & Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage (BESS) Our client, a well-capitalized and rapidly growing energy startup, is seeking a Business Development & Project Manager to help build and scale its battery energy storage (BESS) business. This is a unique opportunity to join the company as one of its first hires, working directly alongside the founders to drive business growth and shape the future of the organization. This hybrid role combines business development, project management, proposal development, and customer engagement. You'll help transform client opportunities into fully developed, competitively priced projects while playing a key role in establishing processes and supporting long-term company growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of proposals and pricing for commercial battery energy storage projects. Manage opportunities from initial customer engagement through proposal delivery and project execution. Partner with company leadership during client meetings and presentations. Build accurate project scopes, pricing, and commercial proposals. Develop strong relationships with commercial and institutional clients while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process. Support the creation of internal processes and operational best practices as the business continues to grow. Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and take on increasing operational responsibility over time. Qualifications Experience in renewable energy, battery storage (BESS), electrical contracting, project development, project management, or a related commercial/industrial environment. Strong customer-facing communication and relationship management skills. Ability to develop proposals, pricing, and project scopes for technical projects. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment. Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
