Industrial Maintenance Technician (Automation & CNC Equipment)

The Industrial Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automated production equipment and CNC machinery to ensure safe, efficient operations and minimize downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated production lines and CNC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair CNC routers, machining centers, saws, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Perform equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and quality.
• Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities accurately in CMMS.
• Coordinate with production personnel to prioritize repairs and maintenance needs.
• Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with training operators on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and provide timely repairs.

Qualifications Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience maintaining automated production lines and CNC machinery.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Preferred:

• Experience with VFDs and servo motors would be a plus.
• CNC maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment would be a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods and ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights and around moving mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work in varying manufacturing environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
