Assistant Principal - Carmel, NY Campus

Under the supervisionof the School Principal, the Clearpool Assistant Principal will provide strong,consistent leadership to the Education Department at the Carmel campus, beingspecifically responsible for the functioning of the school grades 3-8.Through a collaborative relationship with all members of the Education team,this position will assist in maintaining a balanced alliance between theEducation Department and other departments within the agency, as well as theBrewster campus and organization stakeholders. The pay rate for this role is $84, 500 -94,500 per year depending oncertification and education. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise staff in all classroomsand buildings responsible for all HR and personnel related activitiesassociated with recruiting, hiring and retaining adequate staffing Primary Parent contact afterclassroom staff As part of the school leadershipteam, work with other school leadership to build and maintain overalleducation program Coordinate state and otherassessments Other duties as assigned Education/Experience Master’s degree in Education orother related human service field required Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible school related experience required Minimum of 3 years supervisory/administrative experience required; can consider internal candidate with multiple years’ of agency service without supervisory experience Experience working in a special education and/or 853 school Knowledge and understanding of New York State Special Education practices and policies required Licensure/Certification New York State School Administration Certification, or the ability to obtain one within six years Get to know us Forover 75 years, Green Chimneys a multi-faceted nonprofit organization is helpingyoung people to maximize their full potential by providing residential,educational, clinical, and recreational services, in a safe and supportiveenvironment that nurtures connections with their families, the community,animals, and nature.
