1st shift - Utility

Position Title: Utility Wage: $20.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday) QPS Employment Group has a great Utility position available at a company in St. Louis, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire. Utility Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using various manufacturing equipment to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blueprints Complete project work as needed involving the assembly of parts that require the use of hand tools, paint accessories and mechanical devices Complete work order paperwork Perform in-process inspection according to standard procedures Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication Maintain a clean and organized work area Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use Make suggestions to improve production and order processing efficiency Assist with training other team members Follow safety rules and quality standards Utility Requirements: High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required Prior experience in a manufacturing industry preferred Excellent math skills Ability to understand drawing and blueprints Ability to use basic measuring instruments Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work overtime as needed Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
