We are a boutique Immigration Law firm experiencing significant growth, with offices in Houston and Richardson. We are currently seeking a dedicated, dependable, and knowledgeable Lead Attorney to join our Houston Office.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in immigration law and procedure, be bilingual (English and Spanish), and possess excellent communication, research, and drafting skills. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with senior attorneys and legal staff to deliver exceptional service to our clients. The Associate Attorney will also assist clients with interview preparation and attend interviews as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct client consultations in both English and Spanish
• Provide sound legal advice to clients on a variety of immigration issues.
• Consultations - Track on close rate and lead quality metrics. Follow up on notes, emails, perform shadowing, debriefing with manager or owner.
• Perform in-depth legal research and analysis on immigration law matters
• Prepare, review, and finalize legal documents, client packages, and agreements including but not limited to Adjustment of Status, Consular processing, Asylum, Employment Based immigration, etc.
• Be Well versed on Employment based Immigration
• Be familiar with Immigration court cases and policies
• Maintain accurate and organized case records and client communication logs
• Stay current with changes in immigration law, policies, and procedures
• Accompany clients to interviews at the USCIS Field Office and Asylum Office.
• Represent clients in removal and bond proceedings and appeals to the BIA.
• Prepare briefs, cover letters with legal analysis and arguments, motions, and immigration packets for submission, as needed.
• Review for quality, give feedback and sign immigration packets, motions and briefs.
• Research and technical legal writing, as needed.
• Train and teach the team to help them grow their knowledge of the practice area.
• Work closely with paralegals and reach out to them when necessary to contact clients, correct any error or issue, and clarify any misunderstanding or confusion.
• Work closely with Managing Attorney for performance reviews and PTO requests.
• Attend and lead Defense team meeting
• Attend Team Leads meeting

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with Texas state bar
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law
• Strong legal writing and document drafting skills
• Proficiency in legal administrative processes and systems
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially with clients
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
