Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Irving, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM

Job Description: The Respiratory Therapist in the NICU is responsible for managing respiratory care for critically ill neonate patients. This role involves a variety of tasks, including performing advanced respiratory procedures and working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide optimal care for patients in critical condition.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct blood gas analysis and airway management.
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopy as needed.
• Provide emergency and routine airway management for all patient populations.
• Administer respiratory therapy medications and develop RT plans of care.
• Document patient therapy provided and ensure effective communication with physicians.
• Participate in Code Blue, Trauma, and STEMI response.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• Must possess a Texas state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Critical care management experience with adult vent patients is essential.
• Knowledge in vent weaning guidelines and trach care management is necessary.
• Prefer candidates with NICU experience.
